Default Stock wire guage: 10 or 8 AWG?

There are 2 cables running together from the fuse box t the alternator. They look 8 gauge to me but someone on supraforums said they are 10 gauge. Can anyone confirm what the stock wiring running to the alternator is?

Reason i am asking is i am doing a BIG 3 upgrade and rather reuse the stock wiring then throwing it away.

maybe a stupid question but whats the big 3, anyway if your upgrading your alternator what would be best is if you leave the factory wiring and just add to it, i just added a 4 gauge wire from the alternator + and - side to accommodate the higher amperage alternator, works fine...
