i did this to my rims a while back with some kind of expensive *** wheel cleaner. messed around and sprayed it on and the place i was at cleaning my car a water line broke so i had to leave it on for about 15 mins and it ended up lookin like that. There is a way to get it off but i havent found the last guy that washed my car to ask him what he used. As soon as i get bac home im going to try to find him so i can get you and answer.

Default wheels

ok man here is the deal they used pink wheel cleaner on them it is a citric acid .

what happened has happens from morons with a squirt bottle only one way to fix them they have a new plastic media blasting that can strip the clear off them then you have to have them polished . but all said and done sue them for the 45.00 filing fee it just might scare them into replacing them .

yeah man...the sad part is that the service manager and the service rep. was extremely cool and nice, just the service was bad. I just emailed the manager about the situation and we'll see what his response is. Sorry to thread jack...I'll ask about your situation to OP when I go in to chat with the manager so we may have a better plan in getting your rims fix for FREEEEEE.

Rich/connected people have their lawyers do that for them. If you know a lawyer they will prolly do it for free. Just explain the situation. They might say they cant help you without more evidence but might write a threatening letter for you anyway.

I know a lawyer who does this type of thing for me every so often. Works almost every time.
I agree here...no point in going in with guns and making a scene....that's too easy...have a lawyer send a letter to them, you will get a response...whether it's from them or a lawyer of Lexus....point is if it comes down to it take them to court and sue the $h*t out of them to a point where they won't carry this chemical cleaner anymore!!!!...you have a stronger case on your side for the fact that they NEVER asked you for the wash and you NEVER requested or asked them to wash your car...you own the car...it's not leased or anything through them...the wheels are obviously not Lexus factory so why would they tamper with it!!!... damn I hate stupid people!!!....keep all the before/after photos and receipt for the wheels you will need it if it goes that far..good luck!

I was thinking more about this thread last night. The thing the lexus ladys said really had me thinking lemmie find the quote...

When she said that she screwed herself IMO. I think a judge would say "well then you have to instruct your employees not to accept modified vehicles or cars with aftermarket equipment in your carwash you are liable for victim's wheels "

You got a good case just document everything you can. And write down anything you can think of about the situation no matter how insignificant. It may be important later. Talk to a lawyer you might win this!!

The damage can be repaired very easily.

You could wet sand and re-polish the lips yourself.

The acidic wheel cleaner they used etched the aluminum.

Get a powder clearcoat finish on the lips and it won't happen next time.

Sue 'em.
