97+ front bumper
I plan on getting a 97+ front bumper, do I need anything else to make the bumper fit on my 95? Has anyone done this conversion by themselves? Is it hard? ALso how huch should I expect to pay for the bumper? Thanks..

Mine is scheduled to be put on my '92 Monday. You will need the bumper cover, spoiler, foam support, both fogs, a grill, and the front emblem.
I purchased them direct from the dealer and had it in two days.
Bumper Cover $325
Emblem $20
Foam $58
Spoiler $370
Grill $125
Chaching! $898
Some rewiring to the cornering lamps will need done.
You can get the stuff cheaper but I'm impatient.

The bumper doesn't come pre-painted so that will need done. I am not sure if you can use the existing foam or not, but for $50 i just went ahead and replaced. I'm not doing the work myself because i have friends in the auto body business. I'm paying $300. If you get it done at a shop it will be close to $1000 if done right with the triple stge paint and blend over the fenders and hood.
Sides and rear i'm not messing with. I'm just wanting to update the front. If you want to do the whole car, I would consider the Wald kit. It is very classy and is probably what you're looking for. See below.
Peace

Damn, hoops_24 you got raped on those prices!!! I'm doing the same thing to my '92, just ordered all of my parts yesterday from the dealer. I got the bumper for $309. The foam for about $46. Grill is only $75, but I'm putting mesh instead. The only thing they had in stock was the bumper, so I have that sitting under my carport, and waiting on getting the rest. I got in a wreck so I decided to get a 97 bumper b/c it's the EXACT same price as a replacement 92, and the foam is actually $40 cheaper for the '97. I got: '97 bumper, '97 foam, '92 left headlamp, '92 fender, and all of the clips and retainers for about $1100. I think I'm just going to take the emblem off of my other bumper and put it on, then take off the "Lexus" and the "SC300" off the back so that way it'll just have the "L" on both the front and back. I'm doing all of the work myself, and buying either new rims, or a HID kit with the extra money. It would cost over $100 at the body shop JUST to TAKE OFF my old bumper. Only thing I'm getting done at the body shop is painting, and that's only b/c my punk a$$ friend who is a painter at a body shop isn't returning my calls. I'm starting tomorrow morning, hopefully will be done by monday, even though i have to go to work all weekend. I'll take before and after pictures of the conversion though. If anyone has any specific questions about the conversion, I'll try to answer them as I go along.

lexlikenoother, what about the two fogs. Your existing fogs won't fit PLUS you didn't mention a spoiler. Without those two items the front of your Lex will look pretty goofy.
As far as the cost. I'm a speed guy. When I pay I want my stuff NOW! Not to sound arrogant, but for me cost is no issue. SPEED is. I had my stuff same day and paid about $100 more. I can live with that.
Din, I have heard and now experienced bad things with Lexus SC400.com. I was going to order the conversion from them but decided not to after I heard some of the stories. I am also trying to return floor mats to them but they dont respond to emails. Beware!
The headlights are all the same thru the years but the cornering lamps/fogs change shape.
The WALD kit shows the prioces if you click on their site in my previous message. Total is around $1600 but you can get the front only for less than $600 and it's sweet. If I didn't have to wait 6 weeks I would have got it myself.

First of all hoops, I got all of my stuff the next day. And I think $100 is worth waiting a day, I was going to wait until the weekend to do it anyway. Also, there is no "spoiler" that comes with the 97+ , the "spoiler" you are talking about came on the pre 97 SC400's. I don't want the fogs, the reason I'm doing this conversion is b/c I don't want my lex to look like any one else's. As for the looking goofy part, I'm sure mine will look wayyyy better, plus I'm doing the work my self instead of being a p**** and PAYING somebody else to do it. Here's a pic of a guy with a '97, that took the fogs OUT. And yes Din, your old emblem will fit, you just have to take it off of the old bumper. Just be careful not to crack it, it might be brittle if you have an older SC.

Din, that's clint's new 1997 SC300 2JZ-GTE engine swap w/ the supra getrag 6 sp manual tranmission. With all he has done, he sould be around 1000 HP. he was just using the pic for referance.
