It seems more logical to buy a Supra rather than get a SC3 to mimic one. Think of the segment this car was designed for; there is a lot of engineering in there to achieve the lux coupe cruiser. An aluminum V8, not meant to be modded, was the top model designation that evolved into the SC430. Get a 4 if you really love the factory design presentation intended for the U.S. market. Otherwise, get a Supra over a SC3 because it is a much better performance equipped starting point for those who wish to be Fast and the Furious. Just 2 cents from the other side of the spectrum. [SC400; 1992 Motortrend import car of the year]

In regards to which chassis to choose I do agree with you. The only issue is the cost difference between the 2 chassis'. I'm sure most people (including myself) who choose to set up their SC's with various racing setups would rather have a Supra, but the price of the Supra is ridiculous. Essentially, with the SC you get the same car. Stock for stock the supra is handles better and is better suited for the track. Alternatively, after suspension and power upgrades there isn't much that separates them in terms of level of performance. Therefore, the SC is just a better deal. Don't get me wrong, the SC has good looks and sex appeal as well ![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Luckily, all mentioned iterations of the Soarer are great vehicles.

With that in mind, I guess it depends on what you want to build.
Since the SC400 weighs 10% more than a Supra, if you just care about acceleration and not handling, dollar for dollar, can one build a V8 to make 10% more power than a built I6?
