Best of both worlds.....few questions?
Hello friends, I can finally say I have the best of both worlds. I had a 98' White gs400 and now have a 98' black SC400
Its such a pleasure switching from 1 ride to another
Anyways, pictures will be up soon. My questions are as follows.
It is obvious that SC's handling is much better then GS's, but how does it compare with the is300, 540i, or even a z06?
Please give me some details.
Also, I read that the 0-60 numbers for the SC are 6.3
Sounds inaccurate to me, because the car seems to run right in there with the GS's 5.8? What do you guys think?
I have previously owned a 93 750iL and the handling on the SC is better then the 750's if you ask me.
Let me get your opinion guys.
Thank you.

Probably outhandles the 5-series. Doubtful of the IS. Definitely not a Z06. Those 0-60 times sound about right, but can you really *feel* the difference of half a second in a 0-60 accleration? Maybe a born in the flesh racer could, but I probably couldn't.
BTW, looking forward to the pics soon You and Toog4me should start a club

before my SC300, i had a BMW 328IS. But, handling wise, i prefer BMW. Only reason i got the lexus was because my beamer broke down way too many times. how do you time ur 0-60? do you just have ur shifter on Drive and floor ur car or do u turn ur overdrive off and ect pwr on?

I keep it in drive with the ECT on PWR and OD left on. Is this the best setting for 0-60? I also use some level of timing and finess when pumping the throttle. I seems like I helps to diminish the stall between first and second. Is this true or placebo?

i timed my 0-60 twice on the same run, and it was really bad. i got like 9seconds. but at that time, i had my system put back in my car which weighs like 150lbs and a full tank of gas. plus, i think my exhaust is killing the low end power. i have a generic dual 5zigen fireball with custom piping. thinking of changing it cuz its really really loud, and looks kinda tacky after a while. its dual angling upward, pretty much like dual tanabe.

oh yea, about the throttle, when i floor my car, on the first gear, it doesnt seem like its gaining any speed after it goes to 5rpm. but when i let go and pump it again, it bumps to second gear and goes a lot faster, but it seems like i'm losing a second while my foot is off the gas. i test it with overdrive off and ect pwr on.

I noticed the sound system really slowed my car down too. My box is so heavy that my rear wheels set 0.75 inches lower than my front. This added weight also makes it a lot harder for me to do burn outs.
