On this particular SC400 the salesman let me start it up (after bringing out the battery charger). From what I remember the engine idled super smooth, but I never drove the car, so I can't really comment on how it runs, but after starting up that v8 and seeing the smooth idle, I'm pretty set on finding myself a 99-00 SC400 to replace my 98 SC300.

It was cosmetically beat up, but I'm pretty picky about the condition of the interior and paint since I don't want to deal with fixing it. I'm capable of fixing mechanical issues myself, so the little issues with how the car runs can be ignored when I shop. When I bought my SC300 from deluxe I had to come back like 3-4 times for them to make adjustments to the car before I would buy it. I think the salesman was pretty annoyed with me by the time I bought the car, but for the price I paid it had to be almost perfect.
