Default Need help with the value of my SC400

I'm a new member to the site, I have been reading forums for a few years, but just recently registered. I have a question that maybe somebody can help me with. I am going to sell my 1993 SC400. I have owened it for about 8 years, and before me a retired school principle owened it. He never had anyone sit in it except his wife, it was there fun car. I have used it, but never even came close to abusing it, just the opposite, I have been meticulous with it. I used it as my second car also, and put less than 50k miles in the last 8 years. I have all of the service records from day1, 8 years of 1500 mile scheduled maintenance from a Lexus dealer, and the next 8 from a private garage at 3000 mile intervals. If it needed it, it was done. Recently replaced all 4 tires (conti tracs), rotors, and brakes. Power steering lines and pump ($). and alternator (all of the above within the last 2-3 thousand miles).
Heres the specs:
Year: 1993
Color: Jade metalic pearl w/ tan/cream interior
Milage: 164000 +-

Interior condition:

Seats: like new
Carpet: like new
Dash/doors: like new except for passenger door small rip at top of door where it meets the window (center) common from what I read on here.
Wood: like new
Shifter ****: slight wear
Armrest: very slight where in one spot. Have to look to see it.
AC vents: center one just cracked in corner, but again you have to look to see it.
Nakamichi all good no issues with changer (12 disc) or speakers, awesome sound.
All other interior is like new.

Exterior:

Paint is good 90%
Body: a couple (2-3) very small dings, but other than that nothing 95%+
Rims: starting to peel around center caps, but again you have to look close. other than that great condition.
Trunk and hood lifts all work.
Power antenna just broke (cable), and will be fixed at next service (radio still gets reception, it broke 1/2 up.
Headlights (all lights) are like new, absolutely no yellowing or fading. as I said, I have been meticulous with it, and they have been polished along with the car.
Car has never been thru a car wash, always done by heand by me and the original owner. He had it detailed by lexus every service (1500 miles).

Engine (spotless), tranny, mechanicals are all like new, and with the service I have done, and the way I have treated and maintaned them, I would be willing to quarentee them.

I look on e-bay and other sites, and none of the vehicles compare to this, so not sure how to price it to sell, and be fair to me and the buyer.

Everything on the car is stock. No mods except for cool blue bulbs in headlights.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

Welcome to the site! You can easily go to www.kbb.com (Kelly Blue Book) and get the exact value. Just check off everything you put above and it will give you the value whether selling as a dealership or private seller. Check it out:

Thanks,
I'm aware of KBB, NADA, Edmonds, etc. They cover 95% of the cars, and their condition.
I'm thinkin this ones in the other 5%.

Thanks again for your reply though.

from what i remember, when i looked at my car which is also a 93 sc400. it was around 5 and a half grand?

now, this unfortunately is reality. how eager are you to sell it? in a hurry? or can you wait?

if you can wait and don't need a quick sell, then you should aim to get atleast 5 grand for it. in order to get that amount though, you WILL have to turn down many many people. people suck when it comes to buying a car. they want a beautiful car for free. or close to it.

if you can't wait, then i would expect you to get right at or around 4 grand. people suck man as soon as they hear its a 93 with over 100k miles they want it for free. your best bet would be to try to sell it on here, or sell it to someone who KNOWS these cars. i would be willing to bet you money your car drives better than many many many brand new cars or very new cars on the road today. best of luck to you

KBB is 100% right, because my SC400 was totaled, and an appraiser was sent to see the car, and I got the exact value of KBB, even with the heater and radio being removed. KBB is really accurate. USE the link and check off what your car comes with.

If time is on your side you should be able to get around $5,000. Here is the Manhiem auction value.
