Default 97 SC300 Fresh from the body shop, opinions? (56k death)

UPDATED GTE SWAP PICS ON PAGE 2!!!!

Hey guys, been on the forums a bit, but dont post much, iv been quietly building my 97 SC300 from the ground up. i got the car for $4000 with 99k on the clock, but as usual, with a price so low im sure sure you can assume the car has some issues.

Issue number 1: The engine...ran fine for about 6 months, then it just started leaking its guys out from every gasket i can think of, valvecovers, oil pan, RMS/FMS, rack and pinion, blah blah blah...it was just so damn filthy that i chunked it and opted for a 2jz-gte swap, the motor is still chillin in the garage as i have a few tricks up my sleeve that i wanted to implement on it. I will make a seperate thread when it is ready to drop in (aiming for 2 weeks)

Issue number 2: The body...it was ****ed, plain and simple, door dings on every panel of the car, half the paint had already chipped off the front bumper, my mom backed into a light pole TWICE at walmart, both rear quarter panels were mangled up by the previous owner...in the pics the car doesnt look too bad but when you see it in person, it just looks plain ****ty...a car so nice, yet so neglected over the years. Now, im a pretty **** and picky person, and i do pay attention to the smallest details, so i thought to myself, "hey, while im building the GTE motor, why not get it painted?" so i contacted my good friend Dave at Pristine Image Custom Paint and Body in Humble, Tx (a few miles outside Houston) and arranged to drop the car off to him.

As far as the color went, i wanted to shake thinks up a bit. The car was originally Rennisance Red. Although its a beautiful color, i went a different path. I was at the gym a few months back and i saw this sick *** 06 G35 in this really nice red, i asked him politely what was his paint name called, and he told me Nissan/Infiniti Lazer Red...i was in love with the color so i said to myself, "eh, why not"

I have quite a few pics, so take a look and let me know what yall think!

STEP ONE: This is right before I took the car to body shop, doesnt look too bad in the pics, but trust me, it was baaaad...

STEP TWO: Bodywork begins...so mush abuse

STEP THREE: All done, painted and ready to go, looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The color pops more than i anticipated but i still like it. Its different, yet not too drastic.

Wow... another cool thread... Great deal on the $4K with only 99K miles... Everyone seems to be restoring their car. I really need to save up so I can have my own thread just like this one

Looks good.

Quick question, how hard was it to remove the door handles?
