My original comment would have got me banned if neurocity didn't have his coffee this morning...I'm lucky for that.

too much money, anything can be put into any car its just how deep your pockets are or how much knowledge you have! weight reduction is a must cf doors hood and trunk! that will shed weight FAST but then again do you have close to 3g just for carbon fiber or fiberglass parts? seats gotta go interior has gotta go, if you get crazy you can start bracing the car (cage it) and cut out metal from the car, cut the back seat and rear deck, cut the spare wheel mount out, do lexan windows, delete the sunroof, toss the gas tank and go fuel cell, remove ac, heater, remove inner bumpers. just be ready to put down more than 20 grand if you want a legit drift car like a real serious drift car!

Neurocity- *chuckle
One of the first things I noticed about California: Ramen noodle cups are double the price!

To the OP, good luck. I guess everyone has to start somewhere.

This is the wrong car to start with.

Its okay to have as a second.

Or third, or fourth.

But not first drift car.

The z30 chassis are too difficult and costly for the average joe to set up proper like. Sure you can make it sort of fun to drive and sort of go sideways. But if you want results like most basic s13 builds be ready to re-engineer the entirety of the thing.

Long story short, the z30 can be a good exhibition car with some dollars, but if you want to be competitive get ready to shell out some serious cash. You'll also need to be better than average at driving as well. That said, not a good beginners car.

But if you have 35 + g's to spend RIGHTNOW, then be my guest.

i would suggest the 240 fastback and not the coupe
even though they share the same chassis
the coupe or S-13 model seems to have a lot of understeer issues
and it takes more suspension work to get it in better shape for drifting
while the 180 model has a perfect balance for drifting as is with minimal upgrade.
Other way around champ.

No....No ya don't get what I'm saying. I cant believe I have to even explain this one. What my comment meant and what everyone else but you got, is this...

People buy SC's with these great plans in their heads to build them up, have 800whp, and drift with the pro's. But when they realize how expensive it is and how much work goes in...plans change. Like when someone moves to Cali, with hopes and dreams of becoming rich and famous. Realize how expensive it is and that 300 other people with the same idea are doing the same thing that day.

You do not comprehend what you read because you got "I'm jealous of people living in Cali." from my Cali to SC correlation.

Then when I tried to explain the original comment...You give me your life story?

Seriously, this is the root of all your problems here. You hit submit without thinking, reading, or understanding. This is the reason why so many people lite you up in almost every thread you post in.

Soviet Union... Ryeno, were you born in Chernobyl?

Life story now understood-Wikipedia:

"The Chernobyl Disaster was a nuclear reactor accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union. It is considered to be the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history and the only level 7 instance on the International Nuclear Event Scale. It resulted in a severe release of radioactivity following a massive power excursion which destroyed the reactor. Two people died in the initial steam explosion, but most deaths from the accident were attributed to radiation.

On 26 April 1986 01:23:45 a.m. (UTC+3) reactor number four at the Chernobyl plant, near Pripyat in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, exploded. Further explosions and the resulting fire sent a plume of highly radioactive fallout into the atmosphere and over an extensive geographical area. Four hundred times more fallout was released than had been by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.[2]

The plume drifted over extensive parts of the western Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Northern Europe, with light nuclear rain falling as far as Ireland. Large areas in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were badly contaminated, resulting in the evacuation and resettlement of over 336,000 people. According to official post-Soviet data,[3] about 60% of the radioactive fallout landed in Belarus."

The accident raised concerns about the safety of the Soviet nuclear power industry as well as nuclear power at all, slowing its expansion for a number of years, while forcing the Soviet government to become less secretive[citation needed]. The countries of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus have been burdened with the continuing and substantial decontamination and health care costs of the Chernobyl accident. It is difficult to accurately quantify the number of deaths caused by the events at Chernobyl as over time it becomes difficult to determine whether a death was caused by exposure to radiation.

The 2005 report prepared by the Chernobyl Forum, led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and World Health Organization (WHO), attributed 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers, and nine children with thyroid cancer), and estimated that there may be 4,000 extra cancer deaths among the approximately 600,000 most highly exposed people.[1] Although the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and certain limited areas remain off limits, the majority of affected areas are now considered safe for settlement and economic activity.[4]

Radiation levels
The radiation levels in the worst-hit areas of the reactor building have been estimated to be 5.6 röntgen per second (R/s) (0.056 Grays per second, or Gy/s), which is equivalent to 20,000 röntgen per hour (R/hr) (200 Gy per hour, or Gy/hr). A lethal dose is around 500 röntgen (5 Gy) over 5 hours, so in some areas, unprotected workers received fatal doses within several minutes. However, a dosimeter capable of measuring up to 1,000 R/s (10 Gy/s) was inaccessible due to the explosion, and another one failed when turned on. All remaining dosimeters had limits of 0.001 R/s (0.00001 Gy/s) and therefore read "off scale". Thus, the reactor crew could ascertain only that the radiation levels were somewhere above 0.001 R/s (3.6 R/hr, or 0.036 Gy/hr), while the true levels were much higher in some areas.[29]

Because of the inaccurate low readings, the reactor crew chief Alexander Akimov assumed that the reactor was intact. The evidence of pieces of graphite and reactor fuel lying around the building was ignored, and the readings of another dosimeter brought in by 4:30 a.m. were dismissed under the assumption that the new dosimeter must have been defective.[29] Akimov stayed with his crew in the reactor building until morning, trying to pump water into the reactor. None of them wore any protective gear. Most of them, including Akimov, died from radiation exposure within three weeks.[30]"
