Default for those of you with shaved antennas

For those of you out there with shaved antenna's, what aftermarket antenna's did you purchase to continue to get radio reception? I want a cleaner look by shaving the antenna, but i use my radio a lot so i still want to retain some reception.

I have one, just make sure you buy one that taps into 12v for a boosted signal.

Alpine full speed i-Pod cable + iPod = Radio can get lost. But I do have a future plan to buy a universal arial antenna and shove it under my dash.

this is the best style ive had experience with,
for those of you with shaved antennas-amp-ant.jpg
usually from 30 to 50 bucks, and it requires a 12volt turn on

That is exactly the one that I have, it works great. I currently have it sitting on my rear deck between the factory subwoofer and rear glass. I still need to stick it to the window though.

Mine is shaved on the OEM position, and a FUBA is mounted under a shark fin on the center rear of the roof. I do not use the stem of the FUBA, and it is wired to the inner antenna of the Shark Fin.

werd, any of the ones you can stick in your window area will work great for radio.
the ones that use +12v work better.

I actually got one of those to try and pick up dtv signals from inside the car.
haven't installed it yet so I don't know if it works for tv signals.

Ive used a couple diff. ones. Im 20 miles or more from a large city and have trouble with reception. Currently using a dipole wound from eschlyte for around $40.00. It does not receive as well as a locustom stubby, prob. 85%. No 12v. supply needed.
