I dunno if its my plugs or if its something else
I have a hunch that it might be my ECU wiring; I used solderless connectors when wiring up my DEFI HUD, and I used pin IG1 which is the ignition signal for cylinder 1 to the ECU
theoretically speaking, if this signal was lost, would the ECU put any fuel into the cylinder? because this happened INSTANTLY; no gradual stuff
i thought it might be a clogged fuel injector (this happened last weekend too); so i cleaned the fuel with some strong fuel injector cleaner; that made it work again but ever since i thought it was a coincidence because it shouldn't have worked instantly
i meant to pull my plugs to check them; but do any of you think the ECU wire could cause a problem?

Oh wait...I re-read it. You say it was an ignition wire? Hrm...so there's a trigger wire for every cyl? I thought those cars had distributors, which would imply some sort of crank angle sensor, with probably four leads, then a single coil trigger.
AFAIK, pre OBD-II cars have no facility by which to determine misfires on a per-cylinder basis...so no, it probably wouldn't be programmed to cut fuel to just that cylinder.

its showing a check engine light now; i'll diagnose the code when i get home
it cleared up a bit then went back when i stomped on the kickpanel; hopefully i can fix it before i leave work today
btw, its NOT smoking at all and i smell no unburnt fuel
its like its just missing but not spraying any fuel
