but if u want to stand out at a show, nothing is hotter than seeing those twins under the hood, much nicer than the 2j swap.

at a show/ meet would u go to the sc with a 2J swap or one with something like this under the hood?

The fact that your asking if it is common or not pretty much answers your question.

Very few were done. From what I know, there're 3 twin turbo SC400 and 2 single turbo SC400 and one is mine. Show or Go just depends on how you prep your system.

Well both my friend and I will be working on getting our 400's turbo'd...eventually. Its a long term goal but have faith. We will do it, but not on much of a college budget.

Where the hell in Florida do you live? I see them all the time in the Tampa area granted that it is a more populated area per square mile.
If you look at www.Lextreme.com you can find more turboed 400's then on here. Its a UZ based site. My buddy is going to do that setup with his Celica Supra. Pulled the motor out of his car yesterday piece of crap 5m-ge. Other then that not that common as the JZ swaps everywhere. I would like to see more UZ twin turbo setups.

To sum up his rant and add more info....

Tampa is a big area for 1uz cars... We are just a bunch of local friends who have gone this road.

We pulled an engine out of a MK2 for a 1uz TT to go in...
SHOLEXMAN has a 1uz swapped MK3
Capt is working on a 5sp/turbo setup
Another local friend daily's his 1uz MK3 (getting turbo'd this year) and is swapping a 1uz into his 86 pickup to daily...
I am working on a twin HX35 setup on my 5sp SC400 after I finish up my daily driver (1uz/5sp MK3).

Sum this up... Tampa will be doing big things with 1uz's this year.

But elsewhere, 1uz turbo's are rare as hell.

I don't remember how much anymore. I'd say the turbo system itself without related engine parts or EMS is somewhere around $3K with no shop labor involved.

Got a job today! That means an actual income which means that the 5 speed swap is getting closer. After that some appearance mods and then a turbo setup!!! I want to see how some of the other guys projects go first and how the motor does boosted before I do mine, plus I need to save up alot for it.
