yeah I've kind of soured on those wheels. I want 18s but I'm not sure on what I want. The main reason I want the big brake kit is just for looks. I think they look beautiful for some reason lol. I'm doing pretty good getting acclimated to the car but I still have tons to learn. I think the coilovers are going to be the first thing I do and a front strut brace, daizen sway bars, just get used to that stuff I guess and see where it goes.

if you want bigger brakes.... most SC people do LS400 brakes or Supra TT brakes... tons of threads on these.
I agree, those wheels are doo-doo. when your ready, search the wheel classifieds section, there are always nice/quality wheels for sale at good prices. patience is key. GL.
EDIT:You made a good choice on the coils though, Stance are what i am swapping my Tein's for next spring....can't wait.

Great pickup and as others said, I'd advise against those wheels. Though everything else looks good. Can't wait till you boost it!

hehe I paid 600 for my 92 SC 5 speed. But I only put $500 for a new motor into it. And it had 235,000 miles. haha.

yeah mine had 162,000 miles when I bought it. Not bad I don't guess. they say the JZ motors will run forever. I have a question though. Would my motor, the 2JZ, be good for NA-T? and if it is what do I do about my transmission. I know the W58 is pretty weak and it seems like for what i can get a R154 for I could pretty much just add a bit to it and get the whole 1JZ set up

you make me regret buying my 93 5sp for $6400. but then again it was from the original owner w/ 129,000 on it and had a pristine interior condition. wait thats the same as yours minus the mileage.

Well, it's certainly worth the money. Problem is how much you'll end up having in it when it gets to where you want it to be. I find a lot of cars I've bought $2k or so and got in good I ended up having $4-5k in when done and could have been there on day one without all the hassle. So if you want to drive it, you have a fine deal. If you wanna make it something, you might not have saved anything at all. Just depends. Good deal as it sits though!

what he said, I went down that road a few times. you never get back what you put in it either. only do it if your'e gonna enjoy the process and keep it when your done.

what do you need wilwood brakes for? spend that money on power instead.
you can get a whole 2j swap for the price of those brakes.
once boost is into the equation, then yes, get some beefy brakes.
I still think painted ls brakes look awesome with some nice rotors.

how big are the LS brakes? is it a significant increase in stopping power? I honestly feel like my stock brakes are weak even with my stock power. I can't imagine them holding up to anything near even 1JZ levels.

PS how much power does the normal NA-T set up make starting off? is it more than a 1JZGTE? How much is the expected cost of going NA-T?

I have an sc300 and actually joined this site to ask if anyone could figure out why I have so much dimming going on and what i can do to fix it! I have an spv44 yellow top under the hood with 4 ga. rockford fosgate wire to a t1001bd amp in the back hooked up to a kicker L7 15 and whenever I barely turn it up the headlights dim incredibly and so do the gauges and everything else. I was considering a big 3 upgrade but I'm not sure if my alternator would be able to power everything.... PLEASE HELP ( sorry for doing this in your thread i just don't know how to open a new one! yes, its my first day on the site)
