Default Auto Transmission Whine Noise & Failure "Please Help"

I have a 1992 Sc400 with the 4spd A/T...everytime I start the car after stting a while, mainly cold, there is a whinning noise that is coming from the trans area. When i put it into gear it grabs very hard...& when it shifts from
1st to 2nd its very aggressive. After either the car or the trans fluid warms up it seems to shift just fine & the sound is no longer heard. This has been going on for about 3 weeks..... until this morning when I drove it & it started to jerk real bad, then finally she didnt want to move at all, I gave it a little more gas & it crept back into my driveway. I turned the car off & waited no longer than 5sec put it back into drive & the car seemed to drive normal.

The fluid level is good & has no signs of being burt nor smell.

Has anyone had this problem with their trans?
Is my trans completely shot?
Need help! "Thanks"

i think its time for a new trans.. i have the same problem

you can do a tranny flush and change the filter to see if that helps.. that worked for me but a couple months later my trans went out anyway

You have metal fragments in the fluid?
