Default Engine design

Hi guys,

Anyone know for sure if the SC400 V8 is an interfereance engine (clearance between valves and pistons) or not? The wording in the service manual is kind of confusing, I interpret it as IT IS NOT AN INTERFEREANCE ENGINE.

Thanks in advance,

DJL

AFAIK, its non interferance. Dealership told me so, as well as several internet lists of interferance/non-interferance engines.

I concur, non-interference.

There was a thread about this a while back pertaining to timing belts and whatnot, and the consensus around the board was that these are not interference engines. I made that same mistake in thinking it was interference. Makes sense that if you dump over $500 million into R&D on a motor, you'd at least make it non-interference
