Default Rate my alignment.

Some of you may have known that I had some real abnormal toe and camber on my rear right tire, so I got an alignment and these are the numbers I got back.

I wanted you guys to see them in case you saw anything abnormal. I'm still kind of confused as to why the numbers vary from some tires in the proportion that they do.

Disregard the funky colors. Their printer was running out ink I assume.

These are the specs for my rear tires before the alignment. The top pair of numbers show the camber of the two tires while the bottom pair show the toe.

These are the specs of the tires after the alignment was complete. You see anything fishy? I actually was not present when the alignment was done, because I was at school and my dad decided to bring it to a guy he said was well recommended.

The two numbers at the very top are the ones that get my attention. The 0.2 degrees and 1.5 degrees. Is that the caster?

look like stock numbers except for caster.

go back and tell him to fix it and make them even.

Elaborate a little more for me, guys. I really appreciate it. What's the negative of not having the same caster on both sides?

caster is basically the angle of the shock/strut assembly when looking at the side of the car. Both should be relatively close to each other in terms of numbers. When one side is off from the other it may tend to drift toward the more negative side. Also steering would be unstable as well. I thought my numbers were bad (about 2 degrees both sides, way below spec) but that is just unacceptable. Spec calls for almost 3 degrees i think. I was never able to get near that number though, and now i can see someone else can't which leads me to think that there may be more of a problem at stake...

The good news is that this number will NOT affect tire wear, just some steering feel will be lost. You can drive on this for a while w/o worrying about the tires. I would question the tech who did this though and get some more input from him.

glad to see the mega toe issue was resolved.

i have my alignment guy pull as much caster as he can. on my car he was able to do about 4*

parallel link/uneven length link suspension setups dont need as much caster as a mcpherson setups. evo and sti can run as much 7*.

caster helps with vehicle turn in. having 4* of caster makes the car feel so much better then stock
