Your light may have triggered because your current bulbs have gotten old, and gained resistance. This happens over time and your ecu see's that its time to change so it shows the light.
To not trigger the light, you need the SAME overall wattage as the stock oem bulb. My friend wired in a 25 Watt LED for the reverse and no light. These are so bright, its like daytime with tint.
I can help you guys out, just PM me. Its all electrical engineering cr@p....P=iv, v=ir, p=v^2/r
I fixed my bro's hyperblink issue by just adding a resistor.

The reason why you have that warning light on, is because you have the wrong wattage bulbs on them...You're suppose to put 168 bulbs and not 192....(Those are for the city lights in the front)...I've replaced all my taillamp bulbs and I have no warning light on my dash, so I know what I'm talking about...Trust me on this guys!

hey the first problem with the 192's or 168 whatever has been solved long time ago it was just old bulbs. i replaced them.
now i have no warning light. i just want to upgrade my reverse bulbs with something brighter so i need to know what the proper wattage the stock bulbs have. so when i replace with something i WONT get a light.

If I remember correctly, the reverse bulbs are 25W. You can put a 12-14V 25W LED into the reverse lights and the warning light wont show up. How do I know. We tried it on my friend's car and there is no warning light.
It gets hot *** fudge, that's why you need a heat sink and maybe even a cooling device but you will have the brightest reverse lights in your city maybe even your state. lol

With his current setup, if he's in reverse for more than 2 minutes, it might start melting the housing.
I'm going to be doing the same setup soon, but I will put a larger heat sink and maybe even a small fan. That way I don't have to worry about anything melting.

just careful when buying bulbs on ebay like that. My bro bought some 100w bulbs for his car one time, and my *** was brighter then them.
If you can, try to compare luminosity output between bulbs. That actually lets you know how much light is being emitted.
