Default Can I use the Foam on the Shine Auto Couture Bumper?

Can this be used on the auto couture replica from bumper?

reason I ask is I do not have one on my car at the moment just the metal bar and would need to order it.

Does it fit with modification or stock or not at all?

Thanks

cause if you hit something with the front end , i highly doubt a piece of foam will save your life. just my 2 cents.

the foams main purpose isnt to save you in a crash but to soften the damage as well as support your bumper from bouncing/push in, while driving.

If the 1997+ foam doesn't fit and you insist on having it, just shave it down. It is basically packing styrofoam. Nothing to stress about

You can use the early 92-96 style foam absorber with no problems with the shine bumper.

Just cut the top off with a saw. It fits like a glove.

The foam is called an absorber for a reason. It softens the blow. It might screw up the airbag timing if the absorber is removed.

Snook, you're also going to need bolts and nuts to mount the fogs. plus washers to use as spacers and about 4 hours worth of fiberglass work and fitment time to get the foglights centered to fit the crappy shine bumper and they'll still be gaps.

You have to bond new foglight mounting tabs on because they aren't long enough. And fill about a million pinholes and fix about 20 stress cracks that are invisible until you put the bumper in the booth and go to prep clean them. As the surface cleaning agent evaporates you'll start to see all the cracks. They really shouldn't advertise this as being a flexible bumper.

Thanks for your help. I know the absorber is important thats why Im going to put it in place unlike everyone else here. I ordered the 97 one today new from Lexus. My car was rigged when I got it and Im making everything perfect, thats the only way for me.

That sucks the stock foglights dont even fit! I dont have fogs yet I was considering the intrepid lights, if stock fit bad why not go with intrepid since theyll be bad fitting either way it sounds like.

I thought the shine bumper wasnt fiberglass but polyurethane and the AIT was the fiberglass one

It's definately fiberglass. They use a flexable resin. On top of that is a black gel coat. You really can't bend it very much before it starts cracking all over the place.

Go with the intrepid lights and see how they fit. It couldn't hurt.

When it comes to body and paint work, I have to have everything perfect too. That's why I've got ~15 hours of prep time in this front bumper alone.
