Thumbs down Another accident.. I hate crappy drivers.

A week after The Pursuit.. my car got totaled again. This is my 4th accident in an SC.. I seriously have the worst luck. Of all cars the idiots always hit me

Anyway I was rolling on the 605 with a CL buddy in front of me. A guy comes up really fast on my rear and while our lane is slowing down, instead of braking, he swerves to the left, clips my left rear with his right rear and spins out. His front end hit my driver's side and shattered my window and messed up the whole side. I got cut up a bit but otherwise I'm fine.

But yea I bought the car back AGAIN and am in the process of fixing it.

damage:

door is open here

Repairs (and a lot of vacuuming):

I was very tempted to drive like this..

New door (white though ) Thanks to TheMole!

Swapped over the lock, speaker, and whole wiring harness from the original door. Pain in the @$$

no gaps! most of the door lines up perfectly. thankfully wasn't too much damage

still closes properly

looks like a cop car

Since the last accident I've been doing a bunch of things.. major stuff are a double din headunit and 19'' SSR SP1s. The car will be going into the shop soon hopefully and get a full repaint + body work.

Never give up on your SC (unless it was a lemon like my first one)

Dang, Hil, Ever think that you and Lexus SC's just aren't meant to be? LOL! J/K! But yeah, Glad to know that you're okay and good to know that the damage wasn't too severe...Let me guess, was that CL buddy "Myblacksc" by any chance?

P.S Was that door very heavy?

yeaaa.. haha everyone tells me that. Too bad it was severe enough to get totaled again yea it was nate

of course that door is heavy.. haha. But I knew my way around it having parted out my first car. Gutting and transferring stuff was no fun though.

Damn dude... sorry to hear that.... Not sure if you are religious at all but maybe you should get the car blessed by a priest.

There have been no conclusive studies done but it has been long known that dark color cars and particularly black cars get hit more often than light color cars. Here is a web page with information from Daimler Benz on car color that I remember being in the Mercedes owner magazine In Aller Welt about 40 years ago: http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/fas...e-colours.html

Black is at the bottom of the chart as being a conspicuous color.

My wife once bought a new 1983 Honda Accord. It was dark red/burgandy -- a color with the same low 4% rating as the color black. Her Honda was hit from all directions over and over and over. I even mounted a set of Hella high mounted stop lights in the rear window of her car several years before high mounted stop lights were required in the U.S.

It was as if her dark red Honda was cursed. We usually keep cars longer but we sold it after 3 years.

My wife has now driven her white 1998 Toyota Camry 12 years without being hit one single time. White is rated by Daimler Benz as being the most conspicuous color.

I've been driving white Lexus LS cars since early 1990. I wish I could say that they never been hit but at least it's been always in the back end while I've been at a dead stop in traffic and its usually been people talking on cell phones.

I think I'm a careful driver -- haven't hit another car in over 43 years of driving. The closest call I ever had was only a few weeks ago in a grocery store parking lot when I pulled out in front of a car I didn't see. The driver swerved, blasted his horn and barely missed me. It was a black car.

Wow that looks pretty bad Hill (sp?)! Good to see you got the door on man. So the 93 wiring did not directly swap over?
