I think you have a bad clock spring. On my other car (volvo). I installed a quick release hub and aftermarket steering wheel. To install this I had to remove the clock spring. After this I had to turn the blinker off manaully. It doesnt shut off by itself anymore after a turn.

The clock spring basically acts as a trigger to turn off the blinker when the steering wheel is in a certain point.

I may be wrong though. This is just my experience with my volvo. I haven;t messed with the steering wheel in my sc yet.

Thats my thoughts exactly, a bad clock spring. Remove the wheel and install the new one.. Make sure you turn it to the right 3 times, this assures its lined up properly. If not, the blinkers wont work or turn off automatically or the cruise light will flash 5 times, and not work either.
