Good deal on a 5spd '94 SC300?
i didnt get to go check it out yet. it has 131k miles. 5spd which seems to be so hard to find. im planning on trading my beater '99 corolla with 79k miles + cash for it.
what do you guys think, for $4,300?

if i get it, plans were to find new hood, get vertex setup, drop, and some wheels. then get all the maintenance stuff sorted out..or even swap for a 2jz-gte motor.
even trade may be hard but possible for 3800..
and i'd still have to trade in my corolla for it..

for joey feng, I dont trust any cars he has. Most are real beat up. just take a good hard look at it first. check for flood damage too. Feng Auto gets thumbs down to me.

turn on the engine, listen to it run. is it loud on and off? or does it have a consistent purr? drive around with the windows down to see if you can hear anything unusual. does the car shift smoothly? if everything is good, then i'd say 4.3k is a bit high, but within the fair range. otherwise, the pictures show a bigger problem. actually, i'd probably be patient and pass on this. better to have problems with the interior than problems close to the hood, imo...

i kinda feel like its fair price cause its very hard to find a 5spd SC here in chicago.

Run the carfax..and ask them straight out how bad it was wrecked. it doesnt look bad, but its what you dont see that is scary. If you go through with it, before you actually buy the car, take it and put it on a frame machine to check for those hidden damages.
I say keep the rolla(you'll miss the MPG), and keep shopping around.
