You can paint it or apply 3m black out tape made for chrome trim.

what kind of paint grabs chrome :/ ? tape?? eghh, sounds cheapo, love the input though. wouldnt i need to sand the chrome if i were gonna paint it?

the 3M black tape will work just fine..I forget who all has it, but there are at least 5 members I can think of using the 3M tape

and about the scuffing, to tedious and with tape i can always remove if eer need be. good idea though, that was the first on my mind.

i scraped all the peeling black paint off with a fiine razor blade for a chrome look, definitely goes good with a black sc

Don't use the black out chrome trim tape. Already tried it and it is not even possible to contour it to the lines of the car. Vinyl is the only way to go. 2.5tsoarer did my black out chrome trim and he can pre cut you some for the car. Just send him a PM and he will get back to you as soon as he can.

I would not paint it either just in case you ever want to see the chrome trim again. Here is a link to some pics of my vinyl trim in one of my threads (1st page)
