1992 SC300 times????
This past weekend (27th) I went to the AL meet w/ Ian and AJ. I ran my SC3 many times on the track, and here r the results:
I think my avg. 1/4 mile time was a 16.2 at around 87 mph (have to check that speed but it should be around there). I'm not sure what to think about this
I'm hoping that this time is reasonable for my SC3. Here were the conditions:It was really hot out there on the track, my SC3 has 104,xxx miles on the odo and was about 100 miles past its oil change point (i forgot to get it changed before i went down there), i have 15" chrome rims w/ brand new tires on them, plus i was carrying everything (spare, seats, etc.) along with all of my luggage (mine and my friends'). The only performance mod i have is my intake (w/o heatshield). Does 16.2 sound reasonable for my 1992 SC3 auto? I know that the SC3 5spd. gets in the low to mid 15's so im thinking a 16.2 is pretty good for a 10 year old SC3 auto given the conditions.
BTW: I was driving w/ AC and fan off, ECT on, and O/D off/on (didn't seem to do anything), and all windows up. My reaction time got down to around .5xx.

it sounds about right
that sounds about right, i ran a 15.2 @ 96 mph and i had my friend in the car. plus a full tank of gas, it was hot out and i did have all my windows up. so a 16.2 sounds about right
Kevin

Gate shifting is shifting an automatic transmission MANUALLY via running through the low gears on the shift stick. 1st -> 2nd -> Drive. People have experimented with it on the track, and none that I've seen improve the track times over leaving the gear in drive (auto).
