Quick questions for you guys. My rear view interior mirror dimming screen went bad on my 94 SC300. I bought a rear view interior mirror that came off a 96 SC400 and want to hook it up in my car to replace my bad mirror. First question is how do I take off the old mirror and put on the new one? And my second question is will this 96 SC400 mirror be compatible with my 94 SC300 because I noticed the 96 SC400 mirror is a tad bigger than my 94 SC300 mirror. Also, what is the thing on the SC400 mirror that says "AUTO" next to the dimming button? I don't have that on my 94 SC300 mirror...

Im wonderin' for some time now, how in the world do these mirrors work, anyway ?
I push the button and the glass goes dim, but it fascinates me..

I've never heard of Electronic-Glass exactly.. Its gotta be something else.

 

Maybe a dimming LCD screen? Not sure. But I need to know how to hook to this thing up.

 

This is all I can offer...

 

The AUTO button simply turns off the automatic dimming feature on the mirror and returns it to normal brightness. The default setting is set to AUTO ON.

 

My mirror only has 1 screw in it though, I don't see two screws like the above diagram....
