Default r154 refill problems !!!!! help

Hello community so i decided to change my tranny fluid and came across a hurtle. The filler plug is all the way up in the transmission tunnell and there is no way to get a funnel up in there, the drive shaft is also in the way , i tried numerous things and was not successfull , i have drained the oil unfortunatley not thinking i would have this problem .One of my buddys said try from the top where my shifter is but i can't even get my shift **** to unscrew so i can get the center console out , so i got frustrated and just left everything how it is , still i have no tranny fluid in there . has anyone experienced this problem , or how would i extract the fluid from the bottle in order to pump it into the filler hole . need help suggestions thank you .

When I installed my R154 I did it from the top before putting in the shifter. That was the easiest way other then dropping everything filling it and put it back in.

you can also do it with a fluid transfer pump found at most local auto stores it will take a min to do all the pumping and make sure you have a little extra fluid because you may spill some while changing bottles and the fluid that gets stuck in the lines for the pump too. 4qts should do it. I hope you bought a gl-5 type fluid in my opinion it works best.

Agreed!

That's how I always fill the rear axles on dump trucks/semi's/Tractors I work on.. Also for filling the transmission.. just a pump attachment on top of a 5 gallon drum. Or another alternative, is, if you have a lucas oil bottle, the kind with the spout on top, put on a piece of 1/4" vacuum line and simply squeeze the bottle of transmission fluid and it will run thru the hose and into the tranny Maybe grab an extra quart of fluid... Might take a bit to fill the line when filling.. Better to have some extra left then not enough!
