Default Driving across country

I have a 94 SC 400, 83,000 miles. It has had all recommended service up to this time by the dealer, the plugs were replaced at 60,000 so was the power steering pump. There are no fluid leaks, it runs great, the only problems are a dim light spot on the speedometer between 40 and 60, and the tape deck only plays on the right channel, minor issues. The question I have is would you have qualms of driving this 81/2 year old car from Florida to California and back?

You are talking of aesthetics. If the car idles well, the engine pulls smoot and the tranny shifts smooth(better with the rwhp this thing costs us) then I wouldn't worry one bit. Some of these cars have 400,000 miles on them. If the trip is really long I might do an oil change before and maybe even after.

Oilchange when you get to cali....you'll be over the 3k mark then.

Even in turbo form, I would trust my car to drive it anywhere. These cars are like tanks.

I drove my 92 SC400 across the country. I went from Portland to Sac to Reno to SLC to Iowa City to Chattanooga to NYC. 4343 Miles at 85mph without a problem. I got the 3000 mile service done in Chattanooga, first rate dealership imo.

You'd be doing your lex a favour!
Give her an oil change before you leave. Then get another when you arrive. Your engine will be running smooth as hell and your exhaust will be cleaned out! Your lex will be loving you!

I love going on long drives at a constant high speed. Engines seem to love it!
