Default new to the sc game. mad questions. lol

hey whats up everyone. Well im going to be a new member to the lexus side of the world.

I was first a honda guy (i know i know). both my worked integras were stolen, my brothers and my friends also. Made the switch to Nissans and love it.

Ive had 15 240sx. with alot of different ways. sr, ca18, ka, ka-t, rb20 rb25. I never kept one for more than 6 months though. Never had one that i wanted to keep.

Well i am going to try out a new chassis.

A guy wants to trade is sc300 for my s14. Here is what is done to his sc300

-1jzgte swap
-r154 tranny
-single turbo conversion
-650cc injectors
-hks 44mm wastegate
-hks ssbv
-3"dp and exhaust
-stock mufflers.
-act stage 3 clutch
-hks boost controller-forget which one
-MAP ecu. I guess this is a programmable piggyback system
-HIDs
-Eibach springs on tokico struts
-18" rims. dont know what they are but look good.
-Side mount intercooler.
-kitted but dont know which one. ill post pics when i get the car.

Overall the car was pretty nice. a few things need to be fixed and worked out.

Motor runs solid, only thing i dont like is its an ebay type turbo and totally wrong sized for the car. the turbine is HUGE with a small compressor. .60 comp but its small. and turbine if i had to put a number to it. cuz i couldnt see. i would say 1.20a/r at least.

But i have alot of questions as im new to this chassis. im NOT new to cars, turbos, and such. just dont know much about the jz motors or sc chassis. but intend to learn it all.

so just sayin what up before i go searching and posting up.

But just so i can get a questions out there. haha

The car is a 93. in stock form how many O2 sensors did it have. I have one O2 sensor that is dangling in the engine bay. I dont like that and plan on putting it in the downpipe though.

from what you described there, it actually sounds like a solid build..even with the turbo. The JZ series engines are a whole different game from the standard swaps for the s13/14 chassis, that includes the RB..a 1.20a/r hotside isnt uncommon to see. Overall I would say your getting the better end of the deal..do you have any pictures of the SC?

yea maybe. im not sure though. The only swap i really ddint do in a s-chassis is a jz swap. lol.

He wants a 240. i wouldnt mind giving another chassis a shot. my 240 has alot on it. just not turbo'd. well the kit isnt on this one yet.

yea i can see that a huge turbine isnt uncommon but the compressor side just doesnt match up. plus i wouldnt be shooting for crazy numbers so no need for the unwanted lag.

i do have a few pics that he took that ill post up. Let me know what you guys think.

Thats not a bad looking SC, but I do see what you mean about the turbo..I would take it, throw the taillights/headlights(high and low beam)/turbo/fender vents in the garbage, and go with 97+ tails, oem headlights, and a Turbonetics.

haha. i pretty much agree with all you guys. the headlights have alot of condensation in them. so that is something i want to fix so i dont start shorting bulbs out or whatever.

the tails, yea im not a fan of them.
fenders, same deal. not a fan.
and side mirrors. one is cracked so im gonna get some oem ones.

but once the deal happens, money will go to the important things first. like the turbo. just makes the car very very laggy. i mean it works fine but just not responsive enough for me.

then i will start looking into the headlights as they can cause problems. tails, they will have to stay for now. But just to get rid of the look im gonna either paint them red or smoke them out. just so it doesnt stand out as much.

Fenders, not much i can do besides buying new fenders. unless i can find oem black ones to match paint, they will have to stay on until im ready to paint the car.

i also need to fix the side skirts up some.

but does anyone know what type of side skirts they are??

I like the black rims. they look pretty good in person. they will stay for a while.

but im searching like crazy now trying to learn about this car and motor.
i guess the 1jz can support 600whp safely and can do that on pump gas with the correct setup. which i think i have minus getting a better turbo. so thats awesome.

a/c lines couldnt be connected due to manifold. so gotta find a fix for that.
heat lines werent hooked up either. Need to search how they get hooked up as well.
O2 sensor is just in the engine bay with no where to go. Just gonna put it back into the downpipe. lol.

a few vac line leaks that we fixed while i was checking out the car. but gonna check for more when i get the car.

but in time. i dont have the car yet. He checked out my s14 and liked it. I just registered my s14 so i have to wait for the title to come in before we can trade. NY sucks with that too. but gives me time to fix the little things on my car so he isnt getting a car that needs too much fixed. lol.

^^^^ yup do what Turbodreamz suggests. But it seems like youre getting a good deal. 240's are getting real common these days, at least where Im from, even with thier jdm conversions, na-t's, sr20's, and rb25's. Sc300's that are 1jzgte and stick shift are not that common at all, at least where I live in.

yea, im guessing thats why he wants to do the trade. its cool. i played around witht he s chassis. Im sure ill wind up with another one eventually.

I still have my 90 coupe too. haha.

but yea, just sucks for me. Its like starting all over. needing to learn my way around this car and motors.

looking at the engine and stuff. it just looks like too much. my s14's are cake. but thats because i know them inside and out. Im sure ill get to that point on this car too.
