Default what to do

okay everyone, i love my Lexus and all but i just had to spend $3000 to fix some small issues and now i find out my stereos screwed. the way i look at it i could spend $2000 for all the new parts and have a mediocre audio and have to worry what cost will come up in the future or i could sell my car and use the money as a down payment for a really nice new car. but i do love my Lexus. you guys i need some help with what to do, so help with this decision. all comments welcome. Thanks in advance

i'll say if ur lexus is still low on mile, fix it n keep it, generally these r reliable cars. but if it has alot of miles, sell it

Why is your stereo screwed? My harness on mine was hacked to pieces from who ever owned it before me when their stereo was stolen. I simply ran new wires from everything so i now know my stereo system in legit. Doesnt take but more than a few hours and it allows you to customize everything. Unless your going to compete you dont need to spend 2k. Get a decent alpine w-205 (used or new), some mid level components, a sub and an amp or 2 and your set for well under 2k! Keep the lexus

my rear speakers are blown (i let my brother borrow my car once and look at what im having to deal with now) so i decided to go with whole new system minus the head unit. so i was just looking and i thought i could probably get $6000 plus for my lexus and i already know someone who would be glad to buy it

Sounds like its more to it than the stereo because you can replace the blown speakers with some nice crisp rears and a head unit for under $400-500. But if you would like a car payment or just something newer to drive than that would be a different convo. You also have just spent a nice chunk of money on "small issues" something to think about and 125k isnt that many I have 244k miles

the reason i dont want to replace the head unit is i've seen what it looks like and i dont like what i see, and yes there is more than just rear speakers i want to do a whole stereo replacement with 4 new speakers, a new sub, and 2 amps (one for the speakers and one for the sub) also a jl cleansweep

tough to say....be great if you can give us a little more info on your vehicle, year/model/mileage (125K)/upgrades/etc...pictures would be great to see if the interior is mint or not.

I would say keep it, and dump the money into the stereo system. JMO.

Wait..

You want to sell your car, because the stereo is busted... ?

I say sell it, cause you don't really deserve to drive it or you don't really "love" the car. If you dumped $3k in maintenance and little things like the speaker make you want to the car, then sell it..
