Looks aside. I think you'd have to make sure to reinforce the sides and lower portion of the hole. They'd most likely start sagging in or cracking. maybe just painting the center bars black??

It will need a FMIC.

I live in CA where visible FMICs are a big NO-NO. lol Even though the FMIC on my Si is pretty subtle I chose to paint it black recently.

My SC will have a 1jz swap later on and even then the FMIC will be black. Just bought it 3 weeks ago, still piecing it together.

Here it is without the side vents. I'm still debating on what to do with it.

i think it looks better the way it is. No holes kind of makes it look like a JIC kit and when the bars only on the side portion, it just looks out of place and doesn't really flow well.

Did another chop on the AC front, now if only I can find an OEM front grill that will fit.

Why is having a fmic in Cali bad? There are many cars that come from the factory with them.

those cars are able to pass smog and won't get sent to the ref with stock FMIC. If a car that obviously did not come stock with a turbo engine (like the lexus SC) had a big shiny FMIC in the front bumper, that just screams PULL ME OVER PULL ME OVER I HAVE ILLEGAL MODIFICATIONS!!!

If you are boosted and won't pass smog and happen to get a state ref ticket..... You're basically screwed. You either pay over 1k in fines, sell your car, or swap your motor back to stock

In CA you can't be too flashy with engine modifications. When i drove my 240 around, i used to get my hood popped all the time. Luckily all of those times i was still running a stock motor.

My point being that getting a state referee ticket in CA is no joke. It's a huge PITA if you are boosting.

Oh ok. That's what I was thinking but I didn't know it was THAT bad. I'm glad I live in Florida.

I really like it with the center cut out and the lines in the side holes it kinda mixes a little early body style into it. Yea but yea i never liked the crosshair look too much like a dodge to me. And the chop with the grill in it is baddd it make the sc look alot classier.

What the hell? If you photoshop the high beams out it remind me of a Ferrari 360 Spyder... Those small curves up top...
