these are very bright! though, i dont think my p&s can do it justice.







still needs a lot of work

this looks great. looking forward to seeing the finished result! trying to muster the courage to open up my own 97+ tails.

blacked out housing


my extra hands lol


i havent soldered since high school.. but its not bad i guess


final mockup before i check the soldering, heatshrink wires, position everything properly, etc. i think it came out pretty good. i sprayed the lenses a bit darker for that deep cherry red.

Looks great so far!!! Did you put the tailights in the oven or use a heat gun? Just getting everyone's idea on how they have opened tailights and headlights from before.

These are going to turn out very nice.....great work and detail. Just wait till I get another set of 97's again.....going to do something that has not been seen yet as well.

What did you use to spray the tail lights for the darker red?
Also, what is behind the LED strips? is that just cardboard or something?
Lastly, do you plan to use any type of resistors and can you post the wiring details?

Thanks and they look really good. I cant wait to see them when they are done.

its sheet metal

no resistors needed. the ribbon is 12v ready and has resistors wired in if you look at the soldering picture i posted.

i used a heat gun. its visible in the 2nd pic.
