man i would love to do this but I have already lost one taillight to my oven...
I don't think i can handle failing the same way twice. maybe with a heatgun...
The tails look great! I'm assuming you purchased the 16 foot roll to tackle this project or did you order by the foot and they still came in that roll?
no resistors needed. the ribbon is 12v ready and has resistors wired in if you look at the soldering picture i posted.
i used a heat gun. its visible in the 2nd pic.
ill be using the lights on my car to make a 2nd set pretty soon and possibly a 3rd set if anyone is interested
Is that a parallel connection you have for each compartment of LEDs? What ever happened to the "colder solder joints" warning O.L.T warned about with LEDs? Are there still issues with the final load point?

yep, 16ft roll + a couple feet extra just in case

Looks Great btw!
yea its connected in parallel (the entire roll is). i am aware of cold solder joints and i have gone back to fix a lot of my soldering. im not sure if they pose as a big problem to leds though. im not aware of any changes in the impedance if the leds are cut from the original roll. maybe OLT or someone more familiar with electronics can chime in about this.
