SC300 Steering Help
What Up ClubLexus
I have a 1993 Lexus SC300.
When I bought this gorgeous SC300, It had bad steering.
So far I've replaced the Rack & Pinion (New), Steering Coupling (Used), and Lower & Upper Control Arms (Used Great Condition).
Whenever I drive over bumps on the road, my Steering like tilts/moves as I go over any big bump on the road.
Is there something that causes the Steering to tilt as I go over bumps on the road?
Thanks ClubLexus for your help and replies.

Damn I never got to look at my Steering Rack Bushings
Lol I'm just going to replace them with Daizen Steering Rack Bushings
That has to be the Solution!!
I'll buy a set of Daizen steering rack bushings from TMengineering, install it, and see how the steering goes from there.
Thank You For your reply

I got my Daizen steering rack bushings and my sway bar bushings replaced but when I drive, the steering still like tilt/jerks when I go over any road bumps..?
What could it be? I've never driven in an SC like this one with this kind of handling.
All help is appreciated

If I bought the Daizen Front Control Arm Bushings, would it make a difference in the steering/handling?
Also, I think the Control arms are starting to make this creaking noise everytime I go over speed bumps very slowly.

I hate my poly bushings. The ride is too harsh - not Lexus like at all. I'd look at tie rods, ball joints, and maybe even struts. You can also get a pull from a tire. It could be worn, or just over/under inflated. Maybe rotate the tires and/or check pressure to eliminate them as a cause.

Would the struts really do anything with the steering/handling? If that's the case, then I'll have to wait until I can buy used good working condition struts.
Also the rack & pinion shop said that the "Outer Tie Rods" are good.
The ball joints are in good condition because when I bought em' at the Junkyard and pulled the Upper/Lower control off a SC400, they were in good condition and didn't move at all. Also the Rubber Boot that's covering the ball joints weren't even ripped.
Also, thanks for your reply sir

I went to go drop off my friend at the mall and during the ride, I started to notice the creaking as I start to go over bumps like over small pavement irregularities (i.e. cracks, ripples, etc.)
I guess I won't be driving my SC until I get this fixed. I really do not want anything to happen again.
Would the struts be the problem?

But anyways, I just finished having the Daizen Sway Bar Bushings installed last week.
Oh well, I'm going to buy used OEM struts then and see how it goes from there.
Thank You for your help sir
