I crumpled it all up to be used as a light diffuser and in some spots, I used a little piece of paper right on top of the LED to further diffuse the light. I held it all in place with tape. GHETTO, but so far so good. The car got totalled, but the cluster survived.

Okay......I guess a few solder points wont be so bad.....it can't be any harder than modding xbox's etc etc. It is the same size LED's though right

See post #65.

Make sure you put some sort of light diffuser in or you will see spots.

And... courtesy of turbodremz, here is the polarity:

Again, this pic only shows the button lighting, not the LCD lighting.

"T5 LED 3" brought up several hits for me. Make sure you get the "3 LED" ones or you will not be able to eliminate the spots.

Don't know about the rest of you guys but after a month of use, the ebay led bulbs are flickering or some have completely stopped working.

Mine are still working perfect. No flickering - even after the car got smashed, the cluster still works great.

Anyone else have trouble with the led's being a little to small. They kinda wiggle around a bit and can fall out pretty easily. I tried the same bulbs on some of the other caps like for the seatbelt indicator and oil light, and the bulbs fir perfect. Do you think they sent me the wrong Led's? I picked up the exact ones the thread specified...

They're not a super tight fit, and I have heard of some people wedging a little paper in there with them, but I put mine in without any additives.

mine are not tight at all, some just fall out....So i wrapped electrical tape around them and they fit snug. I just dont want to deal with opening this thing up again so Im about to head out to a local wrecking yard to pick up a cluster and use the other caps on the bottom (oil, seatbelt, etc) that have a much tighter fit. Ill post how it turned out.
