I personally like the 92-96 look. I would buy that car for 5500. Low miles the interior looks like in perfect condition.

I love my 95 4 speed works great has amazing power. I beat all the little ricers in their hondas out here haha.

You can always buy a spoiler on here from Aliga or something about 100. If you want that look.

Good deal to me.

And it doesnt have the problems that most SC face. Bled out LCD climate control screen. Non working needles. Trunk struts blowing.

It also has a front lip! Buy it!

If the 92 is available and in your price range that's what I would opt for VS the later ones - reliability is top notch, and styling wise you can do lots with it if you're into mods anyhow might as well start there and save the extra cash to finance it. the extra HP and gears- is it worth it?

Driving a Lexus VS a BMW- (my most recent was a E39 539I sport -02) let's put it this way: Lexus is numb and too light compared to the BMW. Steering is numb, brakes are so-so but as long as you aren't beating on it it's cool.

I bought mine cuz I wanted something I wouldn't be tempted to mess with too much, and just reliable. I love it for that.

Not dissing, but I passed on what I considered an overpriced '98 for an ultra clean '96 without missing the legendary VVT-i experience (although I did only drive the '98 vehicle once on test drive). When you are this far away from original build date, it comes down to car vs. car and what they each went through for a decade and a half. You can tell a lot about a car by the interior, imho. Just a guideline.

I'm baaaack! OK, things changed. My M3 is getting an 800HP turbo in it and the Lexus had an inferiority complex.

So, I bought an SC300, a clean 1998, Red/Ivory with 185K. Resprayed in need of a wet blocking and buff and yet another respray of front and rear bumpers. other than that near perfect. Ice cold air, etc.

Engine is going to to be TOSSED. In its place will be a Supra and a hand built twin turbo system. Only 550 HP, not the 800 we had planned. I want FAST spool up.

HKS coil overs and camber plates, slotted roters, big brake kit, all new drive train too, BTW to handle all the power. Done by a local outfit that does these cars in their sleep. its their specialty.

Interior I had steam cleaned, came out nice. All leather and wood real nice excpet drivers side.
Just paid to buy a jobv for a recover of BOTH front seats to match well. Ivory leather TRIM only with Ultra Suede inserts in seat and back in RED PERFORATED SUEDE...ohhh this is gonna be niiiiice. trust me.
re cover center console in ivory solid suede. yesss!

Rear:Stock
12 inch sub woofer
18 inch wheels with 275 rear and 245 front....Dunlop Extreme Summer performance Star Spec's. Practically a track tire. it CAN be a track tire. Very sticky.
Yes the car will also have traction control.

Front fascia: not sure...Vertex?Autocouture?? Origin???

side skirts: stock
rear and wing: stock
Wheels: Paint the 18 inchers body color on lip or spokes, not sure. Prefer to POWDER COAT them actually.

Pasport 9500ix radar detector and GPS lock out of false siognals. And an aftermarket Nav system too...Nuvi Garmin

Car is going to be sick. It HAS to be an auto becasue i am an amputee. i use a special LEFT side foot pedal. no hand controls needed. I can even track my cars with this set up.

I need help! I need a solution to replacing my factory floor mats in iviry which are 100% un available now. No, i dont want anything but factory and Lexus logo.

My fabric guy can CUT and trim another model to fit. Which car is CLOSE to my mat size and comes in ivory???

The ES 300? They had different shapes in different years!

The SC430? the colors are off. The 430 is camel and some other light light beige.\
I am thinking late model ES300??? Yes?

My floormats came clean ok but are just plain BEAT from wear and tear.

Does anyone custom make them and embroider them with LEXUS logo? I would do that.

Y'all have to wait for pix. i am worn out. i will have plenty documenting the build.

The M3 is getting an OS Giken diff, a HUGE APR wing, solid diff mounts, 1000HP built axles, stage 2 feramic clutch good to 800 HP. Drag radial rears so I dont spin in 3rd gear at 100MPH...Oh they CAN and WILL do that!
custom carbon fiber front canard wings, 900usd ENDLESS brake pads....cheaper than hitting the wall!

PS: I drove my lexus to the 12 HOURS OF SEBRING RACE on early early Sat morning and caught the race. Wow. Had a room. Drove back to Fort Laud the next day. All I had done was wheel alignment and tire balance of the Michelins on the stock 16's. The car drove itself up and back. very very sweet. I love my new car!!!! I actually had a guy who thinks he knows cars advise me not to buy one. "UNRELIABLE!" he said. Just the opposite. could not be a more false statement ever made by a human being. He thinks he knows cars better than anyone. This is a HIGHLY intelligent man. He also believes in Rocky Mountain Radar jammers. The ticket he got was a case of the police LYING. there is no way his unit did not mask his speed!! ever have those days when you just want to scream???

I have to agree with the 99 or 2000 and if you cant get any of those, than settle with a 98. youll still get the same performance, just not the 3-spoke wheel, perforated seats, daytime running lights. i got a 97. I REGRET IT!

Pardon me if this is a little off topic, but someone was telling me that only on the 2000 year model cars the dealer could program the car to do stuff like turn the daytime running lights off, and automatically lock the doors after 5 mph. Thought that was kinda cool.
