How do i stop the tearing on the inside door panel?

I don't think so. I presume you mean at the top, where the side vents are located.
The problem is that the plastic under the trim breaks and, over time, the trim splits. My '92 SC400 has split on the passenger side, but not on the driver's side.
I haven't done this, but I understand this can be repaired by a good upholstery shop. There are threads which show how to remove the door side panel to access this trim.

That's exactly what I did, I could tell the plastic had broken underneath the vinyl so I took of the trim piece and epoxied the cracked areas and mounting tabs, I also added some bracing to keep it from happening again. The interior window trim plastic is notoriously brittle. If the tear isn't too bad that may help keep it from getting worse.
