Default replacement leather seats

The leather on my seats are starting to crackle and fade. I guess I've rubbed my fat a$$ one too many times on them. I don't know what the dealer charges and if there are replacements made by anyone else. I don't even know where to start looking. While I am at it I may want to change the interior to black if possible... where would I start? who should I go to? I am in New york/connecticut region.

Unhappy

I have the same problem. I started to look at replacing the learther and I have been told it iwll be close to 1000-1200 for rhe fronts and armrest. Even with something like 'plethor", vinyl looking like leather, he said that it will be close to 600. Are these prices right, and what is so different about the cow that our seats are made from??? If anyone else did their seats, please post some pics and prices.

Thanks

You can save yourself a bunch of cash by purchasing a leather repair kit ($54 total) from http://www.leatherrepairkits.com/lexus.htm They have colors to match all Lexus models and the end result will surprise you.

cheers,

hermosa, is this for leather??? if so, i'm interested!

vssc400, i doubt you get the whole seat...if anything, it's just the leather and you just take it to your installer or do it yourself.

boot275,

Have you tried the leather repair kit? If so, what were the results (pics would be great)?

Wink

There was a thread about a group buy on new leather several months ago. It was as useful as the dayglow needle thread.

Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the "before" seat. However, it had cracks running over the seat like an old's man face. The process was easy and results were astounding. Not bad for fifty bucks. There's alot of the product left over if I have to make any future applications. I'll post some photos here soon.
