Default Christmas present! what adaptor kit?

Hey guys, i got a new head unit from santa! its got a 3in LCD screen i believe they call this a single DIN. now, tomorrow when i go to best buy to buy the installation kit with the little shelf and stuff, can i get just a toyota one? cause i've seen/ heard that SC's are PITA when it comes to this.

also, i'm doin this myself, so to install a new deck, do i need to start at the cup holder and take out the whole center console, or does the stock nak just pop out?

merry christmas to everyone!

not sure about the correct adaptor kit but i know you gota take the trim around the stereo out.

start at the cup holder, just pull that straight up and out, then start to pry it all out. where the cigerette lighter is, pop the cover open to start to pull that out as well. make sure you dont RIP the whole thing out because there are wires by the shifter and for the any button on the center console. its really easy and takes maybe 5 minutes.

You need to start at the cup holder and remove the tan bezel that surrounds the climate and HU. Good luck with your install!

Remove shift plate and then cup holder by the arm rest. Remove all screws, then pop out the center trim from the cup older end. Remove plugs to get it out the way, etc... I am sure there are DIY on this already. Also, I doubt any toyota stuff will fit. I got all the stuff from ebay and it worked great. The metra kit is not the best, but it works! GL.

All good links for head unit install, pay close attention to the mounting bracket modifications in the last link. You'll thank yourself later, the Metra kit brackets really suck.
