BFI inspection safe??

BFI inspection safe??
Noob questions... Okay well I just got done paying the dmv and they said I need to smog my car and get it inspected at the dmv. (It's an out of state car that brought into Sac, Cali) Exactly what is the inspection all about and will the try to get me for my bfi? Do I have anything to be worried about (smog and/or inspection at dmv)? My car is completely except for the bfi. Thanks.

Passed mine.
Edit: I just read you said it was an out of state car. You might need a 3rd catalytic converter to become a California car.

MY owners manual shows a picture of the California emission part of where the 3rd converter ought to be. You might want to check that picture to confirm if you have the manual.

Its on page 94 in my book. Heres a picture for you. I dont know how Cali works on emissions. I know Alabama doesnt have ANY at all. I would try and pass it on your own and see what happens. Worse thing they can say is NO.
This is for the 300 and the 400 SC's.

you should be fine for smog. as long as it passes emissions wise. as for the visual if the smog tech is smart he will look at the underhood label and notice that its a 49 state car and not a cali car so he will follow what is posted there in regards to the "checklist." as for the BFI you should be fine too, its only a mod to the air box and not the rest of the intake itself. as long as the hoses are all connected youre good to go.

Keep us posted - I'm very interested since I'll be moving out there soon! Are they going to give me grief about my tanabe axlebacks or do they not care about mufflers?

Well I went and got my smog done today at Toyota's Only Service (TOS) on auburn blvd and I passed. I didn't have to do anything to the car. All I have now is the dmv inspection.... I don't know how to read the smog certificate so i'll post it tomorrow. Thanks everyone...
