Goddamn, now that's what I call an upgrade. That's surprisingly the wheels I'm wanting. I have BBS LM-style wheels and want to go for the BBS RS-style now. RS-style wheels are really hard to find in 18"+. The closest real BBS RS's are on older BMW's in 17". There's the RS and Super RS, which I think is basically the RS in a larger diameter.

The RS and LM are timeless classiness.

BTW, I can't hate on either setup, but I'd go with the RS just because it's something I'm wanting to do as well and really interested to see an RS-style wheel on my car.

Lower, and spacers- then I'll choose the new setup.
Would have been nice if the new setup just had bigger lips.
What year did those Works come out?

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I'm not really surprised by the votes, seems like the majority prefer the Algernons, which I do too. But the more I see my friends car, the more the newer set-up grows on me.

Anyhow, I've forwarded this thread to my friend (the fella that owns tha car) and he prefers the current set-up. He's planning to drop it more and adding spacers.

I did a p-chop for him and here's what it looks like, with more of a drop and a more aggrssive wheel stance/fitment.

Current set-up

My chopped version (slammed with adjusted wheel fitment)

im digging the oldschool style with the work. but i can say if the work rims were flushed out, it would be a tie.

Actually, my brother's car is the silver GS in front (see pic below)

I like the Algernons on the later shape update, but I love the early style models with the first set up/BBS RS style.

Example...
