FOR THOSE WHO REPLACED THE 4" Speakers in the front with 6.5" Adapters! :)
My car is currently in storage right now and there is no way that I can get into it at the moment. I bought some 6.5" Speakers during boxing day because I already bought adapters on ebay for the swap.
I put the speaker into the adapter yesterday, it lines up perfectly, but the thing I'm worrying about is, would the speaker be too deep to fit in the door?
Reason I'm asking this is when I put the adapter on the table, put the speaker and put the speaker inside the adpater, there was almost an inch of spacing between the speaker and the adapter..
I painted a picture.. for reference.. lol

The speaker will sink back into the door once it is installed. The only problem I had when installing mine.was trying to get the adapter to fit underneath the door panel. I had to modify the adapter quite a bit to get it to fit and the speaker still touches the door panel but it works till i get the time to modify the door panel.

I have 6.5 JL Audio components up front in my SC and they fit with no issues depth wise. The SC has significant room/depth in the front doors for deep speakers. I also used the Ebay adapters.

I also used the Ebay adapters.. There are no depth issues.. But when the door panel is put on you will notice the door panel will sit right up on the edge of the butyl rubber speaker suuround. I decided to used the speaker adapter as a template to make my own adapter out of 1/4" MDF so I could move the hole that the speaker sit in up and slightly to the right to avoid this issue. I don't know how everyone else has fared using the adapters with no modification since the door panel sits on the speaker like that.

I ran into the same problem with my MDF cutouts that I made. I just recut another piece so that the new 6 and 1/2 would clear the inside of the door panel. So far no problems.

JL audio , yea their subs are pretty nice, i run a single jl w7 ( 10" ) in a sealed box built for it its about 1sq cu ft, and it hits hard enough on the jl 500w rms amp class 1 , to pull my trunk skin off the frame,
