the 98+ odo has so many more things on it than the pre 98 so you couldnt change them... or maybe you can... i know to get rid of the ugly orange, you just need to change the bulbs.. i know the 92-93 doesnt have an outside temp. thing... What do you mean about trip computer??? you mean instead of the little box, it has a long line with all the info??? heres a pic.. hold on. here is mine...

the post. pic isnt working, and hasnt worked for the past 2 months... something is ****ed up with AOL...

Ok...hmmm, Lex, did you notice what KIND of bulbs they were? I mean were they soldered on there or socketed?

Eh, sounds like a DIY project...wonder if I could get some of those super bright mini LED's back there...

The trip computer is a LCD underneath the clock LCD that has temperature, a count-up timer, instantaneous MPG, avg mpg, and avg speed. You can't see them all at once, you have to scroll through and look at each one. Its not like the green dot matrix strip display in the LS 400s if that's what you're getting at....

It won't be plug and play, there will have to be more wires to support the trip computer at the very least. It may be as simple as changing the pinouts in the harness, or it may have been a total redesign, with digital signaling, and all sorts of other nasties.

Bah, that's more work than I'm willing to do for a new instrument cluster! Thanks for the reply though

Maybe. Like I said, I don't know what's involved. If there are digital signals being fed to the newer cluster, then you'd have to reverse engineer the signals, then build a box to replicate those signals which would cost WAY WAY more than $1k.
