You need to be a member to get the full details tho. I'm sure someone here is already a member and can strip the details for us.

Default any updates on this mod?

Sorry to bring up an oldy again but doing serches... I like the firmer steering feel or other sports cars (porsche, BMW, Infiniti M45) and was wondering if anyone else firmed up the SC steering. IMHO the firmer feeling just makes it feel "meatier"... thanks

I've done it. (my mechanic actually did it.) Makes a difference. All he did was wire something in the power steering ECU to tell the car that its in high speed mode (lower power assist). He said it was very simple. I looked at the power steering ECU but can't figure out what he did.

Default If you find out...

Does it make a difference? Does the steering feel better at the higher speeds? If so if its not too much trouble if you ever have a chat with your mechanic ask he/she what they did to change the steering. Thanks...

There was a mod in the LS forums a while back where you disconnect a jumper in the steering ECU and it sets it to half steering assist. I forget the exact mod, but I drove an LS with this mod and the steering is much stiffer and heavier.

i've driven a few car's without powersteering... i wouldn't recommend it. Unless of course you have arms like arnold. Once the car is moving it is just like any other car but when your trying to park that is when you start breaking a sweat lol. You almost have to use two arms to move the steering wheel. I live in nyc and tight spots will murder your arms lol. I wouldn't recommend ever taking out power steering unless you live out in open road.
