I have a '95 SC400 with a tan interior. The shift lever in the 95 looks like a... Well, you know.. The shift levers in the later models look much better with the chrome base and a more tapered lever with some wood trim and leather at the top.

I don't know if the bases of these shift levers are the same.. Can I replace the earlier version with the later, cooler version?

Yes you can, but the wiring is a little difficult. Don't let that scare you off..it's a pretty cool mod to do. I think there's a DIY around here somewhere...
