Default Troubleshoot root cause of stuttering and loosing power sc400

Hi,

I went through few thread in this message board and others and there seem to be other people who experienced this issue. I am leanning toward MAF sensor however I cleaned it up and even replaced with used one and that did not make a difference the stuttering is still there.

Behavior:

When I accelerate car just stutters sort of like a miss-fire or faulty injector.

Things replaced:

spark plugs, wires, air filter, maf sensor with an old maybe the new one is bad too.

I read many posts people replacing o2 sensors, emission sensors and what not, but I am hoping anyone can help me avoid spending hundreds of dollars replacing part by part by targeting the right one.

By disconnecting the maf sensor the car does not stutter any more, but still performance seem to be weak.

Thanks in advance.

Use the search tool again. I ran by similar threads. It kinda sound like what had happen to me before also. Check your distributor, rotors, bad coils. Mine was a bad coil. Acceleration was like laggy and the car kinda threw back a bit than after 40 mph it was kinda normal still not smooth and get up. So try that....

There are two coils, if i am correct if not someone correct me. One on each side by the valve cover of spark plugs.

shoot i got the same problem and i can diconect my maf and the car when givin gas will bogg dwn...but dnt think that is the problem

i have done a full tune up and nothin...but i do got one plug wire boot tip stuck in the tube right now...in the process of gettin it out..

also i have replaced the ecu and didnt fix it either

im cleanin up the whole intake right now with all the 1,000 dollar sensors that are on or around it... looks pretty caked up in there..

basically if u search around u will end up in dead ends ..no one acutally finishes what they started i have spent days lookin around on here and all i hear is "use the search tool" well guess what there incomplete dead ends!

i have tried pretty much everythin these ppl have said and nuttin not sayin it doesnt work in some occations...

btw does anyone have the resistant readin for the coils?

Troubleshoot root cause of stuttering and loosing power sc400
Stuttering is caused by a neurological tick in the nervous system, and the SC400 may just have a bad MAF.

Fuel pump ECU's have been known to go bad on SC 300/400's causing funny running problems.. Good used ones can be had for $25-50 max. Just do a search. They are very easy to take out and the reside right behind the drivers side rear seat arm rest panel. It's a small little box shaped unit about the size of a pack of cigarets.
