VIP isnt based on a color...its a level of class that takes some decent taste in cars to achieve..painting a Ford Fiesta black, with some 20'' rims and some JP curtains does not make it "VIP"...nor will painting it baby blue.
Im not one for the "VIP" style myself with my SC, but would do my research before attempting an LS460L VIP build..there are far greater things involved than just the color from what I have seen.
and no one said it was. I only said that according to the H.N.I.C. of VIP, that Black is a prerequisite to the platform.

Taketomi-san himself said Black is the only true VIP color. I wouldn't argue with the man who started the whole VIP scene back in the early 90's.
VIP style/influence goes way further back than the 90s. The style can already be seen in movies dating back to the early 80s. Here's a screen shot from the movie "Black Rain" where the Yakuzas drove high end cars that were kitted/dropped. It's just been more mainstream in recent years where "high end" out dated models like the SC3/4 is more affordable.
