same thing happened to me twice, once on the street no one around & once on the road race track, when i hit the brake it was locked up didnt move at all i was a car length from the *** end of a Z06, i cut it hard to the right and looped it off the track, all it was, was booster vacuume hose. the stock clamps suck when the hose gets old, some how built up heat or pressure to pop it off. put back on with good hose clamp, never had prob again.

When you say locked up you mean the pedal right? not the brakes? i ended up working all day today, with a day off tomorrow I'm gonna play with it, if its a clamp. I'm going to pee my pants, sit down on the bench freshly installed on the back of my neighbor's civic, and drink a beer. That sounds pleasant. well, minus the pee part.

*Looking up this "pay it forward" thread. Hopefully I wont cry as hard as I did in the movie.

It's the booster. Same thing happened to me. Sudden failure. Check ebay, but first, check with Ailiga here on CL. He will hook you up - that's where I git mine.

I did that repair in my garage about a year ago. To get the booster off, Gear Wrenches make the job SO much easier, as you have to sneak a wrench behind some computer modules to get to the nuts that holds the unit to the firewall.
I bought mine for $350 from RockAuto. It is Reman'd but it works just fine-- no problems thus far.
Sure was a good leg workout getting the Lex home that night... Luckily no freeway.

PS: You will probably have to pull the main lines off the Master Cylinder to get the booster out of its spot, (which means bleeding) so this isn't a bad time to consider bigger brakes!

yeah advance auto said 245 with a 65 core charge, but it has no availability, im going to call around some junk yards for it, this is my daily too(f***!) but damn I love this car. Even with the suicide mission ive been driving since yesterday..i like it so much more than my old cars.. and they were pretty friggin sweet if i can toot my own horn. Ive had this 300 for a week, I sold a 3 week old(to me) 93 sc400 in fair condition for my 96 sc300 in good condition (aside from the brakes).. previous to that I had a huge variety of cars..4/5 being RWD mmm
