20 pounds isn't that big a deal unless you have a full-on race car.

...It's just an idea cause the guy asked what he could put in that hole.
A battery fits, and usually cars are front heavy so moving the battery helps weight distribution "alittle bit." But anyone with an audio system isn't serious about weight reduction anyways.

in our cars weight reduction is sorta pointless. it takes soo much to remove a couple hundred lbs - thats extreme weight reductions and not good for daily drivers.. i suggest making more power:weight ratio

I think relocating the battery is more trouble than its worth, has anyone covered the hole with matching carpet? i still think it looks kinda weird just having nothing there.

Make some type of carpeted Velcro cover and put a small tool box there.

Took out the changer and replaced it with a PPI A300 to drive my Image Dynamics ID10 sub. Probably going to put an additional piece of MDF between the factory Nakamichi amp and the PPI amp in the future to raise up a the PPI amp a little bit or maybe fab some type of cover.

Put some fabric benind it to hide the wires and such. Then put plexiglas over the opening and hide a Cold Cathode up under the carpet on the top to make the compartment glow.
