Default Need advice, imminent 2jz motor purchase.

Last week i restarted my attempt on building another gte SC, the third to be exact. I was about to buy an auto 1j to put into my 95 sc4 this week until i went on craigslist(little voice in my head). So, a guy locally bought an aristo 2jzgte to put into his 88 supra, needless to say the project only got as far as a 3pc stage 3 clutch set, a turbo manifold and a 62-1 turbo. Wire harness has never been touched, NOTHING has ever been touch and the motor is just slopped in the engine bay, never bolted in...again, NOTHING. So he was asking 2500, i got him down to 2k and me being the **** head i am, i'm going to try for 1800. I have gone to physically see the motor and the rotating assembly will turn freely. Im going to drop off 1k tomorrow until my dad can make space in the garage for the project. As usual my clublexus peepz opinion is always valued. So should i pull the trigger?

Im a bit excited because i found a lexus used parts dealer and last week got, complete oil pan, engine brackets, ALL a/c lines, window regulator and motor, sc3 manual / brake pedal assemply and master cylinder all for 475 shipped. So if i get this motor and everything works out, i think i'll have the record for the cheapest 2jz manual swap

went to drop off some funds today to make sure that bad boy is mine. waiting for my pops to make some space in the garage and ill go get it over the weekend.

it has a w58, he doesnt know what car is came from tho, whether a mk3 or sc3. Are the w58's from both cars the same or is the shifter different?
