Owning an SC300 is the closest your going to get to a MK4 Supra, so why even compare it to a Civic?? You currently own a car that uses one of the largest aftermarket supported engines known for making high hp/tq, and it shares the same suspension parts of the famed MK4 TT Supra, so with that being said, no things arent going to be cheap..
Think of it this way, most Civics dream of 600whp, your 2JZ-GE will do that without having to sleeve the block, piston changes, block braces, Frankenstein B20/B16/B18 builds, etc..the 2JZ has an average hp out put at low boost that most hondas see only at high boost with a full build..so technically your SC is cheaper.

I think SC's do tend to get boring if you don't have the money to do stuff you want.. Sounds like you bought it not really thinking about actual costs..
I'd say sell it and get something your comfortable with.
