sc400 in the shop. fun.
My sc died on me yesterday. had it towed to my friends shop. He gets back to me today. My crank pulley separated at the rubber part(harmonic balancer) and slid back taking out the crank position sensor and some other things. The bright side? The timing belt is cracked and about to break so it needs to be replaced too. As well as the radiator. (cracked and leaking). I feel like kimbo slice punched me in the wallet. No fun with taxes this year.

I know that it would only be a temporary replacement and it might be slightly more expensive, but it'll be more worth it. You'll still need to change the rad and the timing belt + water pump down the line... but it's an alternative you should look into

How much am Iooking at for a swap? This is my d.d. Not looking for another project, got my Mr2 for that. its my friends shop so he won't get me too bad on labor. And I get commercial rates on most parts that Are not dealer only.

C'mon... this shouldn't cost you more than $500 if you DIY (including radiator). There is a DIY timing belt FAQ if you search. It's not hard, just time consuming. The crank sensor is 2 minutes and you can get one from Aliga used for cheap as well as the harmonic balancer. Hell, he might have a decent radiator too.

I know I could do it myself and save a lot. But I work ten hours a day six days a week. And my tools are minimal at best. And as long as the sc is down I have to drive my lowered Mr2, in the 5 inches of snow we just got. With more on the way. Is aliga a board vendor? I'm always trying to find the cheapest parts.
